How Does Platinum PCO Work?
Platinum PCO is the best solution for problem odors. The whole-house air purification system uses UV-C light, along with activated carbon cells, to produce a photocatalytic (PCO) reaction. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) cause the vast majority of household odors. Many of these VOCs, like toluene and formaldehyde, are toxic. The air purification process of Platinum PCO is similar to that of a car’s catalytic converter. When the VOCs are neutralized, the odors are eliminated. The hydrocarbon molecules are converted to carbon dioxide and water vapor. The positioning of the UV-C light in the Platinum PCO allows it to disinfect the air stream, the interior of the air system and the coils in a similar manner as Platinum UV does.
